To date, the Classic has helped generate over $130,000 for area charities. The Park City Food & Wine Classic is pleased to once again support the People’s Health Clinic. A percentage of all Classic ticket sales and all auction proceeds benefit this important organization.
People’s Health Clinic: Mission
In eleven
short years, the People's Health Clinic has grown from seeing 700 patient visits,
working from a mobile medical van, to seeing over 8,600 patient visits in 2011
in new professional Clinic spaces. Families, pregnant mothers, children ... anyone
without health insurance in Summit and Wasatch Counties have access to medical
care. The Clinic provides pediatric, chronic disease, prenatal and general
adult healthcare as well as wellness education.
The People's
Health Clinic is able to provide uninsured members of the community access to
care at a greatly reduced cost due to the efforts of over 175 volunteers.
Doctors, other health professionals, translators, clinic support and event
volunteers work in unison with a small professional staff to keep costs down
and quality high.
The majority
of the clinic's patients are hard-working members of the community, who often work
behind the scenes. By providing quality health care and education to those with
no insurance, the area's schools, restaurants, businesses, residents, even
visitors stay healthier and a crucial workforce remains productive.
Thank you for
your support. Volunteers and funding are always needed to meet the day to day
obligations. If you would like a tour of the clinic or would like to know more,
please contact Executive Director Nann Worel at (435) 333-1875, by email, or visit the website.
